Oct 10 - Foothills Trail

What a fantastic final ride of this trip.

We cycled the Foothills Trail today from Puyallup to a bit past Soutb Prairie.  We would have cycled further but a bridge was “severely compromised” and the trail was closed at that point.

The day started quite cold as we layered up to cloudy skies but we did see a few patches of blue as the day progresses.  The trail was fantastic, smooth, and quite wide and we simply enjoyed the ride.  We did see a number of other trail users and had a nice conversation with a couple of recumbent trikes.  We traded a few ideas for trails and realized that there are many trails left to do in this area, just on another trip. The skies finally cleared up for the return ride and we finally got some good views of Mt. Rainier which was a nice treat for our final cycling day.

As we were staying with good friends, we cut the ride shorter than we probably could have to prolong our evening visit before our flight home tomorrow.  As our flight is later in the day, we opted not to pack the trikes tonight but will do those in the morning after it hopefully warms up a bit.

Today's ride: 34 miles (55 km)
Total: 8,561 miles (13,778 km)

Larry MitchellThanks Kelly … a very nice, no problem or issues, trip. We ended up with 813 miles, 29 rides over 24 days, and a total of 2900 drive miles spanning 5 states. Left Seattle at 64 degrees, landed in Fairbanks at 37 degrees. Believe there will be an adjustment coming.
