This trip went quite well. Other than some tires that simply reached the end of their lives, everything simply worked. The tire wear was partly due to the replacement of the tie rods and not quite a perfect alignment. As the tires were already worn, I simply didn’t take care of the issue when I should have. Had we been on a different type of tour, I would have dealt with it. But we were constantly in reach of bike shops where I easily could have replaced tires. 

As to what’s next, Montana and North Dakota. That’s when we will reach our 50 state goal after 24 years of cycling.
