In the coffee shop met Mary and Brian, a couple from Boston. Brian is riding the whole TransAm and Mary joined him for a week

While in the coffee shop, the police called all businesses in town and told them to lock their doors and shelter in place. A man known to law enforcement (wearing an ankle bracelet) drove by a house and fired off a gun. While they were looking for him everyone had to stay put. Ninety minutes later the word came that the lockdown was over. I headed to my hotel which was 100 yards down the road and heard 3 gunshots. At the intersection next to the hotel I looked right and the police had a 2 block area cordoned off with fire trucks and a bunch of police cars. Don’t know any details past that

jan kinnerYou’re hitting all the spots I saw/stopped at while riding from Pueblo to Kansas City last year. I told folks “if you stop in the middle of the road and look west and then east you wouldn’t notice any difference “. I’m riding out of Pueblo to Seattle on 26 June. Maybe I’ll see you on the road!
