A coda in a canoe
I thought it was cool to end the journal at exactly 100 pages, but it ain’t over ‘til it’s over. We can’t forget the experience of canoeing out on Harland Pond, intermittently touching base with Laurie and Vance out on their kayaks, checking in at Aunt Lulu’s dock to see who’s out this afternoon, scanning for snags with sunning painted turtles. A sublime experience, and another window into the nature of the new life Vance and Laurie have mapped out for themselves here.
