Heading back to Constance
Day 4: Stein am Rhein - Constance,
A beautiful sunny day.
Leaving Stein am Rhein we crossed the Rhein and rode to Constance. Most of the way had amazing views of the river, then the lake, and the hills.

We stopped at a shoreside cafe for another $20 round of coffee. Great view though, and a gondola!

We saw different breeds of cattle and chickens from what we know, right beside the bike path.
The bike paths here have all been very nice. They are in quiet areas and have interesting views from them, unlike most at home.
We arrived in Constance early so meandered a bit back into Switzerland at Kreuzlingen for a short ride along the lake. We did notice the border crossing here, but simply followed a local on a bike through a fence gap and we were on our way.
Just after this we did see two border guards that had pulled over a car, so they do some spot checks I guess. I resisted the temptation to get a picture:)
Our bags were late getting to our hotel delaying us a bit, but we did walk around the old city and had some recovery time at the rooftop lounge. Thankfully we are not wearing cycling shoes on this trip.
We had a lovely dinner at a hummus place in the old town that seemed popular with the locals.
Today's ride: 36 km (22 miles)
Total: 86 km (53 miles)
