Amsterdam to St Johnsville
Today we finally began our ride on the Erie Canalway Trail.

It is already starting to remind me of other rail trails I have ridden.
The beginning of the trail was shady and the skies were a little bit cloudy. Eventually the sun came out and the day warmed up a lot.
A beautiful day for cycling. The trail was not too busy but it was great to see people enjoying it. I had several stretches all to myself for miles at a time.
The trail is used year round.
What a nice place in Sprakers. Although we wouldn’t need need to camp here this time, it was great to see they are here.

We arrived at St Johnsville Marina for tonight’s camping.

Let me amend a previous comment. Flat, paved, shaded, and a tail wind . . . you just can't hate it.

Rose's Perspective:
We were packed and ready to go at the Microtel in record time 830am!
Both of us excited for a day without traffic, on the Erie Canal Trail.
Some would say it's a boring ride. But it beats traffic and minimal shoulder every single day! Stopped at St Johnsville Marina for the night. Just across the bridge off the Erie Canal Trail. Clean Bathrooms. $10 per tent. Electric and water. Bring noise canceling ear phones if you want to rest.
Today's ride: 34 miles (55 km)
Total: 472 miles (760 km)
