Day 3 Four Castles

Today was a fantastic ride and one all new to me.  We rode a total of 71km/44mi with 1000m/3301ft of climbing.  We were on the south side of San Marino is a beautiful area on the region.  On our return we passed through territory that been heavily fought over during WWII and if you see the terrain you understand why.  Once back at the hotel there was gnocchi cooking class laid on for those who wanted to participate.  I opted to take photos while Cindy participated.

The route and profile for today.

We made a quick stop at the Coriano cemetery again on the way back. Our guide Danielo told us that his mother was 6 when the war raged through this area. He is very grateful to all who liberated this region of Italy.

We also had a local olive oil producer to come by for us to taste and purchase. I did not buy oil but I did buy 8 year old balsamic vinegar. Cindy bought some dried tomato salsa.
