Let the cycling begin

I finally started to cycle today. We rode 61km and with 2400ft of climbing mostly all in one 4km climb that averaged 8%. I have rented a Pinarello Nytro road e-bike so the day was fine. The bike is lovely and has max assist up to 25mph. I do find that it has almost too much assist at times which leads to have a maximum range of about 80km. They advertise this riding level as averaging 20kph on the flats but I had 23.5kph on my Garmin when we got to the ferry at the 23km mark. It was a lovely ride on both sides of lower Lake Garda. However, I do have to mention that the traffic was heavy at times. Don’t come to ride here if you are not comfortable in traffic because it is everywhere. We were a little longer getting back to the hotel than planned because one of the guys got lost mostly of his own doing. I am not too impressed with his attitude since he doesn’t seem to care that he inconvenienced all of the other cyclists. Sadly our evening boat ride and likely tomorrow’s ride will be cancelled due to heavy rain.
