Our last day in Moret
Researching the way out
Last night we caught up for the last time with Louise, Michael, Pantakan and Anise. Was rather amusing as it was a typical French Monday and at every restaurant we tried they told us the kitchen was closed! We ended up just having a drink in the square. This didn’t matter because the important thing for us was seeing them. This is probably the very last time we will come to Moret as the family shift to Sweden in July - we felt a bit sad

Today was the day to try out the start of tomorrow’s route to Sens. We had been feeling nervous as all the routes I could find on the usual aps involved 14.5 km on a state road! We set off and it was worse than expected diabolical traffic and steeply up hill. After around 6 km we came to a summit andwithgreat difficulty got across to the other side and back to Moret. A gentle ride along the canal somewhat calmed us down. But what about tomorrow. There must be a better way
In Moret we have a wonderful bike mechanic. Louise and Michael had got our bikes serviced there and we had of course used him in 2019. We called in got Ken’s computer functioning again and got a rear vision mirror ( Ken feels the need to keep track of me). Most importantly however he looked at the proposed route for tomorrow and said it was suicidal. What he then did was give us a long list of villages that we could pick our way through and have a wonderful day. I love this man
Attached to his shop is a great cycle museum and his knowledge of all things cycling is encyclopedic
