Looking back

We have now been back from Europe for almost 2 months and can look back on what was a very successful and enjoyable trip. We are so lucky to able to do this, to me it seems a bit like respite from old age.

What to do next is of course on our minds.  Ken didn’t like arriving home in what was the middle of winter.  I personally don't enjoy riding in extremely hot weather.  We have come to a compromise  and will fly to Europe at the beginning of August next year.  First on the program is a River Cruise in France then we will go Frankfurt for a 6 week bike tour invoking the Weser, The Netherlands, the Rhine and probably the Mosel and Saar before arriving back in Frankfurt.  We now of course do not have bikes in Europe so that it is a problem but I think I have solved it.  I have been corresponding with a great sounding place in Frankfurt and for what to me sounds a very reasonable price they can hire us everything.  The bikes are Kalkohof and from the specifications very similar to the one I have here that suits me well Ken and I naturally are still in conversation as what he will ride as he feels he doesn’t need an ebike!  Maybe he will change his mind.

In the meantime we are enjoying daffodils and cherry  blossom and the weather is getting warmer for our daily rides

Michael HutchingWell done Trish and Ken - the e-bike, will I , won’t I, conundrum is a tricky one that’s given rise to much discussion in my family. To each, his or her own. Certainly in Bavaria recently we saw many 80+ locals out on their electrics given an extra lease of cycling life. All the best , Michael & Ann

Tricia GrahamYes and I have found a great place in Frankfurt that will hire us everything ( pannier helmets etc too) 1350E per person for 6 weeks. That is for e-bikes -cheaper of course if Ken rides a regular bike ( I personally think at 88 he is old enough to ride an e-bike he doesnt). I can devise a really good loop ride staring and ending in Frankfurt that will take that time
I bet you are thinking about your next trip though yours is more complicated as you have to factor in park runs
