A Flat Day
Seneca Falls to Palmyra; breakfast at Connie’s, concomitant flats, Liberty House

Knowing that today’s ride is only about 29 miles, we were in no hurry to leave Seneca Falls so we slept in until 8:30, packed leisurely, and departed at 10:00. Then we rode a mile into Waterloo to Connie’s diner for breakfast. Like our dinner last night, breakfast did not disappoint.
Leaving Connie’s, our ride took us through the outskirts of Waterloo, then to the northwest. We kept to backroads, avoiding highways and traffic, passing through farmland and small villages.
The weather could not be better-mid60’s, light winds, often from behind us, and sunny.
About 15 miles into the day, Jim had a flat tire-his 3rd of the trip. Like his previous ones, this flat was caused by a sharp piece of glass or rock. We fixed it but as we were getting ready to leave, I noticed that my rear tire was soft as well. For this flat, we found a wire.
Other than the flats, the ride was uneventful and relatively easy-less than 600 ft elevation gain in 29 miles-basically flat.
Arriving in Palmyra, we needed to kill about 30 minutes before we could check in to our accommodations so we went to lunch at the only restaurant we could find that was open, Acropolis. It actually was very good, with an extensive menu and good service. Good thing since it likely is our dinner spot as well.
Tonight we are staying at the Liberty House B&B. It is a lovely 1840’s Victorian. Tomorrow we finish our tour as we ride back into Rochester.
Here is our video:
Today's ride: 29 miles (47 km)
Total: 494 miles (795 km)
