The 3 amigos cycling - a lovely valley ride

D&L rented e-bikes today so we could all go for a ride together.  We headed out from the bike shop about 10AM for a lovely valley ride but don’t be fooled there was still 1800’ of climbing. The route was an in depth out from Bagnère de Luchon with a left hand loop attached.  The start included about a third of the climb that I did to the Col des Ares.   It was mostly a pastoral ride with a few small village thrown in.  We are on a fairly busy road but the drivers are very respectful with some back roads and even a cycle trail.  We stopped for a picnic lunch along the way and a beer or maybe two at the end.  All in all it was a good day.

Passing one of the many churches is the small towns in the valley, they are everywhere.

The pathway that we rode along the Garonne River. They have plans to extend it by 21km to Bagnère de Luchon.
