We arrived in Bagnère de Luchon about 3PM this afternoon from Montpellier.  We had rented a lovely Volvo XC60 but unfortunately the windshield wiper was destroyed and we didn’t know it until we hit some rain.  So along the way we stopped at the Toulouse Avis location to get a wiper change but had to settle for a car change.  All of this delayed our arrival as did a significant detour.  The Mazda 60 is not nearly as nice as the Volvo but we will manage.  Once in Luchon we settled into our accommodation at the Free Range boutique hotel.  Once we settled in we wondered the town mostly for a beer but also to take my bike to a shop since the front breaks were ceased up.  Stupid me I did not bring a break spacer so somewhere in the trip with the front wheel off the brakes were compressed so they no longer open properly.  The bike is in the shop as we speak.  We had a lovely meal of Coq au Vin with a rhubarb tart for dessert at out hotel.  

Tomorrow we will do our first hike while my bike is being repaired.  After that who knows.
