It's April 1 and this is not a joke! Jim retired earlier this year from his job as a videographer and has been a fantastic stay-at-home husband. As much as I love having my lunches made for me and dinner ready every night, I am really looking forward to my own retirement from teaching at the end of June. We have been planning, reading bike blogs and dreaming of the day when we can take off on our first long tour down the West Coast to San Jose del Cabo. We will be leaving behind so many friends and family, but are so excited to be able to have this adventure together. Hopefully it will be the first of many under this title.

Our plan is to tour for six months out of the year as it will allow us to keep our health care coverage and also be home to spend more quality time with our kids and grandkids. We want to be flexible, so we will see how this first tour goes and plan further from there. All in all, it should be quite the adventure!
