Just a short post today, because it’s the holiday season after all so I’m awarding myself a bit of a break. And anyway, you’ve seen this country recently. Nothing new to see here, folks; other than a funnel cloud, the National Cemetery decked out with poinsettias, a Ross’s Goose, and the rare Shaw’s Agave in bloom.
Just the usual sort of stuff. Happy holidays!
Christmas Eve, Little Italy: a fine time for a bike ride.
Shaw’s agave, Cabrillo National Monument. Rare in this country, Cabrillo is at about the northern edge of its range and one of the few spots in the country you can still see one growing wild.
Scott AndersonAs long as we can stay dry and warm enough, I really like biking at this time of year. The sky can be so interesting. Reply to this comment 4 years ago
This funnel cloud hovered in the distance for about twenty minutes. It was enough to make us anxious when the winds started picking up around us later on.
This is the first heron photo I've seen that includes a good look at the foot. And what an interesting foot it is!
Also, the Kermit the Frog Green moss looks pretty nice with the heron's outfit. Reply to this comment 4 years ago
Scott AndersonTo Jen RahnThe foot was a lucky capture. I took the photo because of the green background, and didn’t notice the foot until later. Also, I like the way his pose mirrors that of the Ross’s Goose just above. Reply to this comment 4 years ago
Jen RahnI hadn't noticed that. They must have coordinated this show ahead of time! Reply to this comment 4 years ago
