Audierne - Pont l'Abbe: We promise to stop at the first drop

Excellent, it's cool but not raining and we are on our way. However, after yesterday's experience in the rain, we decide we will look for a hotel at the first drop and not wait until we are drenched.

We cross the bridge over the Goyen and climb out of the deep river valley. Again today, the hills aren't high but they are constant and pedalling is work. We sweat and the cool wind chills us, a bit of sun would be welcome. Instead of picnicking we stop in a cafe for sandwiches, baguettes with ham and cheese, and a cup of hot choclate.

My merino wool shirt isn't too warm on a day like this.

Two o'clock and a few drops of rain remind us that we don't want to repeat yesterday's experience. We find a room and settle in to write our journals and take care of laundry. It turns out to be a short shower but we have put the time to good use and hope for a dry day tomorrow.

Not wanting to get soaked a second day in a row, we take a room in Pont l'Abbé
