We were very soon into more Big Things as we were leaving Home Hill.  First what I'm guessing was a big tin of sardines followed by a big question mark.  The big question is ?

After eleven kilometers on the Bruce we found a back road through the sugarcane farms that added twelve kilometers of distance but kept us off the Bruce for more than forty kilometers.  It was blissful and my cycle touring soul was restored.

We had another thirteen busy kilometers on the Bruce before turning off onto a gravel road to a campground near Giru.

More on the Bruce to Townsville tomorrow and then we take the ferry to Magnetic Island the next morning.
