Ardeşen

Once again we made the best use of the hotel breakfast.  The variety on offer has been amazing.  Leigh was disappointed that there were only six types of  cheese on offer this morning.  Yesterday there were eight!

A Turkish staple we have struggled to enjoy. In our opinion Turkish tea is steeped for far too long.

Jean-Marc StrydomTo Scott AndersonTastes a bit like it too! My preferred hot beverage is coffee (Leigh calls me a coffee snob becausei am very partabout what coffee i drink) but when I drink tea I prefer something aromatic and light like a flowery orange pekoe.

We managed to stay off the D010 for about half the ride today.  There were two tunnels, the shorter one of about 1300 meters long we walked the bikes through but we managed to avoid the longer second one completely.

The back roads had more hills but some were a delight to ride.

Walking through the first tunnel.

Our target for today was a campsite Leigh had found on Google.  Its not particularly nice so we will only spend one night here.  It is squeezed between a busy road and a strongly flowing river.  The river's noise hides some of the racket from the road.

The campsite's most important feature was a washing machine. It's the first time since we have been in Turkey that our clothes have had a machine wash.

Apart from the washing machine there was also a kitchen. It is the first time that I have cooked supper in Turkey.

We will ride until just short of the border tomorrow  and cross into Georgia on Friday.

Today's ride: 48 km (30 miles)
Total: 826 km (513 miles)
