Thanks, David. The links to your two tours are broken (it looks like the links are to the editable pages of those journals, which only you have access to.) I think one of them is "Newfoundland/Labrador's Viking Trail" but I can't determine what your other journal is.
I live in Kentucky, and am all too familiar with "territorial dogs", haha. Hopefully the West Virginia dogs are not any worse.
I had a potential West Virginia route worked out a few years ago for a short tour, but then I didn't get around to doing it. That route had me crossing into WV from Louisa, Kentucky, and I think working my way on back roads to Hurricane. I don't remember the rest of it.
I tour on a mountain bike, and am able to do dirt and gravel roads in order to avoid busy, dangerous highways like US 50... Of course, sometimes there aren't even dirt and gravel to ride on.
