Both you and Rachel produced some fine galleries. Excellent work. I hope to see more sketchers too.
I hate to brag (totally untrue) but I drew a few sketches in my early years of bike touring. I didn't take many pictures back then, so occasionally I had to augment my journals with drawings of what I saw. They were spread out over a few journals, so I'm going to condense a few of them into a not-so-excellent gallery right here.
I will try to resume my sketching in future journals and hopefully improve the quality.
Oh thank goodness, Greg! I was hoping G-2 would show up.
Your art has always lent a certain … je ne sais quoi … to your journals, and I hope you continue to post your work. Because:
Great message and I could not agree more. I'll definitely keep that in mind when questioning whether or not I should post any of my drawings in the future.
Thanks Kathleen. They are excellent. They sure add extra depth and feeling to the journal which photos don’t.
And Greg definitely deserves an ‘Encouragement Award’ for his art.
I’d like to make sure that everyone sees Rachel Hugen’s watercolors that she did while she and Patrick were touring Scandinavia and the Baltics this summer. She posted one every day. I asked if she was planning to add a gallery to the end of the journal once they were home. She did make a gallery, and I don’t think people should miss it: https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/racpatscandinavia/gallery-of-watercolors-sketches/.
I did a few sketches for my tour this summer too, although not nearly so many. They were included in my journal, but after seeing what Rachel did, I thought I should do the same in kind. https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/frenchtootle/art-gallery/
I hope to see more of us sketchers posting to our journals.
