A friend and I are planning a 7-10 day tour in Andalucia for January. I'd love input on the routes. I've included two sketch routes here. One is point to point, another is a loop. I have a friend in Sevilla, so dropping bike suitcases there would be ok, but any info on luggage transport would be appreciated too.
I created the point to point route on cycle.travel We assumed 45-70 miles per day biking, with one rest day. We will be staying in hotels, no camping. Both of us are "jubilado" and our camping phase is in the rear view mirror and receding.
I avoided the immediate coast as I've heard that east of Tarifa to Malaga is full of large apartment blocks (I biked in Malaga last January, and the city has some work to do to make it bike friendly, Sevilla is much better.
The loop one is from RWGPS. It goes inland. I was also in Cordoba in January (along with a week cycling in the Ronda area), so I know the weather can be changeable and quite chilly at times. Whereas the immediate coast is much warmer. Which may argue in favor of a hybrid of hugging the coast, and then figuring out a way to avoid the worst of the heavily developed part.
Here's the point to point route: https://cycle.travel/map/journey/602979
