Mike I’m snookered from the beginning. I can’t decide if my AeroPress coffee maker or internet access is the most important need for cycle touring.

Hear hear!  I'd never heard of either of those until your post; I like the Gaimon approach and dislike the Velominati though I think (hope!) the latter is intended as humor, and possibly sarcasm in some instances.

Another excellent suggestion John.

Yes The Gaimon Rules align much more to my idea of cycle touring. And a benefit of adhering to these rules would be greatly reducing the likelihood of exploding one’s Shimano crankset.
