Perhaps you will still get the # 1,000 journal, we often go a week without a new journal added. But if you don't, I think the # 1,001 is even cooler because it reads the same forwards and backwards!
You are right, of course, Palindromes are really neat. Too bad we cannot think of a Journal Title that is a palindrome.
Thanks for the support, Kelly. However, we will only start posting at our usual time and let the Journal number be whatever it is.
Looks like they do, Wayne. The 1000th journal is Jeff's. Quite fitting, I'd say.
It makes a nice full circle to have Jeff both start up this website and also post the 1000th journal. Congratulations to him, and many thanks for creating a welcoming friendly community where we have and can continue to share our stories of our travels on our bicycles.

And so it seems it will be: the site's creator/owner has posted the first page in what I hope will be another great read.
Congratulations to you Jeff and well done. The Grampies have it exactly right. Thanks for the site.
I agree, Steve. The 1000th obviously belongs to Jeff.
Andrea and I are incredibly lucky to be best friends with Jeff and his wife Kristen and now their daughter too.
Ten years ago today!!! we met Jeff in Libby, Montana. We had been following his first journal on that other cycling site when he rode from Key West to Seattle. We were quite taken by both his writing and his beautiful photos. We anxiously waited for each new entry. Somewhere along his way he mentioned "....by the time I get to Libby..."
There was a family reunion (Andrea's family) we were planning to attend in Libby so we contacted Jeff and told him if we were in Libby at the same time we'd take him to a great pizza place.
We were in Libby at the same time and we did take Jeff to the Red Dog Pizza which was way out in the forest quite far from Libby. We liked Jeff right away and it was nice of him to trust us strangers actually taking him to a real pizza place out there.
Since then our friendship has only grown. He and Kristen are two of my favorite people I've ever known. I'm not surprised his CycleBlaze is such a great and successful site attracting such great contributors. I feel very lucky to be close friends with Jeff and be part of it all. Here's to thousands of more journals on CycleBlaze.
If I could I'd post a Thumbs Up emoji in agreement and applause for your having reached out.
Grampies -
Just do it! It seems fitting to me that the coveted spot go to a prolific, well known team on Cycle Blaze.
I have a potential four day tour coming up in Colorado, but I'm waiting for companions to decide if and when they are arriving. Then the golden question will be if we can get last minute lodging. There's too many ifs for me to start a journal.
Plus, the 1,000th would be an appropriate spot for a significant journal, rather than a long weekend spin. My opinion, of course.
