I am looking at flight options for next summer's tour of the Loire with my son.To this point, when I travel I fly Canada direct or via a European stopover. I never go through the US. For this trip some of the available options include a plane change in Washington IAD then a flight on UA. My question: Is transiting through the US the same as, say, FRA, MUC or LIS? Or will there be extra hoops to jump through? Like going through customs again? Will we have to collect our luggage and re-check it? Or something else?
