Hi Joel,
Welcome to Cycleblaze.
I echo what most people have said here (the website is user friendly, relaxed atmosphere, etc). Its got a good feel to it and more features pop up all the time.

Hi Leo,
Bonne Année!
Try opening a Google Chrome session if you want to post. I had the same blank expression on my post when I tried to do it in Microsoft.
Cheers,
Keith
It looks like posting is not supported for Internet Explorer (or the other Microsoft web browser, Edge.) When I try using Internet Explorer, I see the following message:
Note: due to the presence of extensive bugs, the CycleBlaze editor no longer supports the Internet Explorer or Edge web browsers. The Chrome, Firefox, and Opera browsers are all fully supported.
However, I see that the "Post Reply" button is still enabled, even though I'm not able to type in anything. Maybe Leo clicked the "Post Reply" button, and that's what led to his empty post?
If that's the case, I suggest that Jeff A. disable the "Post Reply" button when someone is using an unsupported web browser.

Hi Joel,
I found Cycleblaze after looking for an alternative to CGOB. My touring experience is limited but, as you mentioned, the format of this site is very mobile-friendly. I found it easy to post frequently from the road, and the few questions I had were quickly answered by Jeff.
Another advantage is the community feel. We were inspired and encouraged by the comments, some from experienced cycle tourers we've never met.
Like a lot of other familiar names here, I moved from another site because I didn't feel at home there and I felt that the folks who had moved to CycleBlaze were folks who shared a similar view of the world.
The reasons for me documenting our travels is:
1) So when we get even older and our memories get even worse, we will have something to refer to when we need to settle an argument (the "we" being Leigh and myself).
2) So that my mother, now 87 years old, can stay up to date with our travels.
3) So that I can share useful information with other bicycle travelers.
However, even though I have moved, I have left my earlier journals on the other site and that's where I find myself wondering what to do next. The other site, despite the aspects of it that made me feel uncomfortable, is a mine of information. If I were to remove my journals from that site I might be depriving other folk of some information that could prove useful to them.
To make matters worse, I still find myself turning to it when I am researching areas where we plan to travel. Obviously, this makes me feel truly hypocritical. So right now I am in limbo. Fully committed to CycleBlaze but neither wanting to be associated with the other site nor willing to cut the last ties.
For what it’s worth, I went through the same indecision you did and double posted my journals for awhile. Neil kindly helped me out here by requesting that I get the hell off of his site. I don’t have any qualms at all about continuing to use it as a research source though.
We are happy you are here on CycleBlaze and are enjoying your current journal in Thailand.
Blank verse, surely?
