Hi Joel, and welcome to CycleBlaze. I recognize your name too, from another cycling website. Some of us were looking for a more inclusive community-run platform with contemporary formatting that is, as you note, easier to use with mobile devices. More and more bike tourers are relying on phones or tablets to post from afar. CycleBlaze looks sharp and performs well on laptops and desktops also.
CycleBlaze is a young website but new features are being added slowly but steadily. We hope you will stick around and join the party when you're ready, the door is open.
Best of luck on your next tour, tailwinds always!
G'day Joel
I endorse everything that Andrea wrote.
BTW there is a facility to copy (but not necessarily delete) your journals from that other site and post them here.
Are you still following abandoned railway lines?
Mike
Thanks Mike, still look at following abandoned railway lines whenever I can.
I haven't posted anything except for here on the forum, but I chose to post here because other forums seemed, I don't know, too intense? There's lots of arguing other places and I don't want to deal with it.
Facebook has a pretty big community but it's really hard to keep up with. There are so many postings every day. It's also not easy to go back and find old posts.
This place seems pretty new, so hopefully those problems don't end up happening here over time as well.
There are two major reasons I post ride reports online:
These days I do mostly shorter tours and "cycling-intensive" weekends and vacations with "less harder-core" cyclists and I've found Cycleblaze to be a great site for doing (1) and (2) above.
Leo,
I have never known you to be a man a few words. Your post was blank.
;-)
I recognise a few names from other cycling websites and am wondering what made you decide to post here instead?
Also how have you found the experience here compared to posting else where on specific bicycle websites and social media?
I have only had a couple of looks so far at cycleblaze and have been impressed how much easier it is to post and read using my iPhone. Is that the main reason people decided to move here?
I'm just thinking about where I will describe my next tour and looking for feedback.
Regards Joel
