Hi Rachel and Patrick,
I think maps can be embedded directly only from Ride with GPS and Strava. What I tend to do: if you can download your maps in GPX format, you can import them into RWGPS, and then directly embed them.
You'll need to use the "share" link in RWGPS - this will give you an embedding "tag", which you can paste straight in.
Cheers!
Jon beat me to the punch....
I am no expert on maps by any means, but it is really easy to get your maps in through RWGPS. If I can do it, anyone can.
I use a very basic Garmin Edge 500 as a bike computer (no maps, just logs data). I have a Garmin connect account and at the end of the day I just connect my device to my computer with an internet connection, and the files are then automatically loaded into Garmin Connect. Here's where the real magic comes in (I think).
In RWGPS you can link your Garmin Connect account to RWGPS (Dashboard page, upload button ... you will see a dialog box about this). Once they are in the Garmin system, they are automatically transferred to RWGPS as well . It takes a minute or two, enough time to have a glass of water or a few sips of your post ride bevy.
When you come back to your computer just do as Jon says, hit the Share button, copy the Embed code, and paste it into the map dialog box in Cycleblaze. Done.
If you don't have Garmin connect, you can upload your tracks directly from your device in one or two clicks as well. I've done this when using my iPad as it does not play nice with old Garmin device.
I just use the free version of RWGPS and it works brilliantly. I do have Komoot as well and I do play around making routes in that app, but the free version of RWGPS seems to work well for getting maps into CB.
thank you! Jon and Lyle, I think we are going to like the friendliness and helpful information sharing on this site.

New to cycleblaze and working on creating a new journal, so needing to figure out a few things.
When looking at the journals that do have maps, most seem to be from Ride GPS. What about the site Komoots? Any comparison or recommendations to which might be easier to use and export to the journal?
Thanks
