That was a cool tour, literally. I'm glad you did it, too much snow though, bad luck. There are limits to what you can do on a bike.Maybe you can find another winter window when there isn't so much snow.

The best thing about it is having a special song to sing when a train goes by. My wife knows what's coming after all these years but she still laughs at me. Little boys never grow up I guess.

I just Googled it. Catchy tune. "I like trains. I like sad trains, I like trains that whisper your name."

Do you know Fred Eaglesmith, the Canadian singer/songwriter? He has a great tune called "I Like Trains". I sing it every time I get to watch a train go by.

Otherwise perfect, though. :)

Ah yes, "Grumpy Old Men." Ice fishing is a big deal here, but I've never been a part of that culture. In fact, I don't even like regular fishing. But it is a Minnesota classic--along with "Fargo."

I know the photo you're referring to, and I really like it.

Thanks Kelly. And, yes, I like all those features of the van too. I guess I'm not cool.

Yes, we plow the bike paths here. Minnesota prides itself on being a very bike-friendly state.

Hi Nancy, I'm glad you found this journal and that I was able to inspire someone to ride in inclement weather. Also, I apologize for not replying to your follow-up email the other day. I just found it this morning. It looks like you got the Cycle365 problem figured out anyway. I'll be back to posting there again soon.

Hi Rich,
I sure didn't mean to worry you. I do have a bad habit of just lying my bike down instead of finding something to lean it against. In fact, heavy snow gives me another option. All I have to do is put the wheels in the snow and the bike will stay upright just as well as if I had a kick stand.

Hey, that is beginning to look more like the Minnesota I know - from the movie "Grumpy Old Men". I'm sure you know it. I just watched it again on TV the other night and had to think of you.
