I have read it, frankly we're so occupied just trying to keep the journal up and everything else with the trip, we don't have time. Thanks for the thought.
5 months agoWe did, it was crazy!
5 months agoDid you notice the whistling sound the wind makes as it blows through the girders of that bridge? At least it did on the day I passed by.
5 months agoJust discovered this journal, will be following you on your journey. I rode the Northern Tier in 2021. I was going east to west - still, my journal may be helpful to you in evaluating riding conditions and places you may stay in the days ahead. Best of luck,

Beautiful pictures and descriptions.

Thank you Bill. I read up on them a bit due to your identification. My misidentification apparently is not uncommon.

Funny!
Yeah, protective! Where I fish, during nesting, they fly from branch to branch yelling at me for hours on end.
This is Tina, Jamie's wife.
Yes, the hawk was a red-tailed. He was being harassed by some red-winged blackbirds and so was just sitting still while a red-winged guarded him. Today we saw five red-wingeds hammering at a turkey vulture. Pecking at it while it tried to gain altitude to get away from them. Those RWBLs! They are so protective. During our x-country in 2018 we saw one LAND on a red-tailed's back. I have known them also to peck bikers' heads. Wearing helmets has helped that problem. 😊
