My very first 'long' bike ride was on this road.

3 years agoBud…..you’ll find someplace to stay tomorrow. Things always work out. We all miss the newsy postings and especially the voiceovers on the videos….c’est la vie as they say!!!! Hope that angry tooth is better.
3 years agoWell….not too difficult to see why the female cyclists passing ole Jim might start yelling for their partner(s)….
3 years agoBud, I tried to cancel a comment because my phone misspelled a word and screwed up the punch line….oh well, it was a good comment and I tried to be Mark Twain-like with my observations. You inspire your followers. But the main point was that you’d better head due west or else you may find yourself having the second breakfast in Canada.
3 years agoBig tip is to request a room close to the office, for good internet. The first time through we had a remodeled room close to the office. Happy, happy. Second time we were far from the office and had to go sit by the restaurant for internet. Not happy. Third time, I knew to request a close room in advance.
It's a climb from town to the motel, one more reason to get your groceries at the big grocery.
The restaurant used to have a good buffet. COVID closed it last summer. I will be interested to hear if it's open again, if you visit.

Unsolicited advice - see if you can work Yaak into your route. It's a worthy ride.
Kelly,
That’s where we are staying- glad to hear you recommend it!
Bud
Bud you are Mark Twain in a bicycle. I just love your witticisms…..now on to read today’s posting!!!
3 years agoRich,
Thanks for the encouragement- I’m not ready for the journal to end either. But it could be out of my control. But I’m good for now, and will continue if at all possible. Best wishes,
Bud
Simon,
Thanks for the encouragement- I need all I can get to finish this ride! Best wishes on your journey,
Bud
Kelly,
I’ll check out that movie when I get off the tour. Cut Bank seems like the sort of place where wild things could happen, and there’s a lot of open reservation land to bury bodies!
Bud
Steve,
It may be safer for us camping in the wild than to be outside your house at night! Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
Bud
Thanks Scott - I’m good for the moment with a combination of antibiotics and pain killers. It remains an open question as to whether I can keep things at bay for another 16 days and finish this tour - guess we’ll find out..,
3 years agoIt might be too late for a recommendation, but we've stayed at the Ksanka Motel on the edge of town several times. The rooms closest to the office have better wi-fi. $90. is what we paid last summer. They are in with a Subway/ice cream shop and the big grocery store is roughly right across the street. In town there is a smaller/more expensive grocery. We've never stayed in town, but always at the Ksanka. There is also a steak house next door.
