Bud and Doc....I can’t get the video to load.....hey, does anyone know a teenager who needs a summer job? Anywho....there’s supposed to be severe weather your way tomorrow.....if a twister hits stop at a farmhouse and ask to hop in the tub!
3 years agoDon’t worry about writing too much as the videos are so wonderful!
3 years agoYes, I know it’s a load to put in a full day on the bike and then post about it at the end of the day. Thanks for the effort.
3 years agoHaha, yep, wasn’t that thoughtful of me? 😂😇
3 years agoThese videos just keep getting better and better... this was way better than Jeopardy Tournament of Champions and that’s sooo hard to beat. Take care.
3 years agoJudy, did you book that Amish wagon to go sell them cinnamon rolls? If so, can you send it my way? I’m tired of toast for breakfast. Keep it up you two!
3 years agoHey, I'd like to see outside pics of where you are staying. I know you've shown a few indoor shots but I haven't seen any lately. Not fair to show cinnamon rolls when I'm trying to cut down on the carbs!

3 years agoI think you’re right about planning lodging this summer. We leave Minneapolis for NYC in two weeks, and were almost too late in the game to start booking once we realized it could be a problem. We finished booking the whole ride yesterday, so we’re set. Now if only the black flies will move along before we get back there.
3 years agoYou're pretty much hitting the peak of black fly season in the Adirondacks. They can make it pretty miserable to be outside.
3 years agoI hope you had a really good dinner!
3 years agoBud and Andy,
Great to see the both of you at the end of a day that probably couldn’t have ended soon enough... keep these videos and pictures going. They are absolutely terrific. Hope tmrw’s ride has fewer flies.
I feel your pain about COVID lodging. We are riding from Muskegon, MI to Milwaukee, WI for our summer tour. I had exactly your experience with lodging, with the added fun of many places we wanted to stay had a two night (or more) minimum. Lodging costs were so high, we almost abandoned the trip. I have never had a more difficult time booking a trip.
Last summer we rode from the Mexican border to the Canadian border. With the exception of the Yellowstone area (which was difficult because of the two night stay thing), it wasn't too difficult to book and was actually very reasonably priced. One of our least expensive trips. I think, because there weren't too many people traveling and lodging was happy to have any customers. This year prices seem much higher.
Stop for photo opportunities on the climb! Remember, the tortoise won the race, not the hare!
I'm loving our journal. Thank you for giving so many details. I feel like I'm right there with you.
Kelly
Good luck tomorrow! My plan is to read your journal entry describing a great day of riding!
