They looked like greyhounds but smaller. Breed?
2 months agoYou tell us this every time we see them, and we never rememmber. Probably because we are not sailors. And never will be. Dodie especially is afraid of being in or on water.

2 months agoLooking forward to your Maas/Meuse trip. We took route from Maastricht back to Amsterdam in 2019. At the last minute decided not to head down into France. Some day.
2 months agoMaybe the name was lost in translation. The materials had said the Biesbosch had water "buffel",which we took to be water buffalo, and showed this beast. We did not think it looked like any water bufdalo we ever saw either, but?...?

2 months agoI donāt think so - the horns donāt look right. I think heās a Highlander. I was surprised to see that there are buffalo in Holland though. Iād like to see that.

Yes, that's a soprano recorder. A fife would look like a small flute and blown on the side rather than the top. What a cool experience to find along the road! We came across re-enactments a couple times on our tours.
