I still remember looking in at a small restaurant (if you can call it that) in Burnaby, BC, where I lived until 3 years ago. “Proudly serving Campbell’s Soup” said the sign. I didn’t go in. Truthful, yes. Appetizing, no.

This reminds me of riding into Dijon in 1992. We turned off whatever minor road we’d been on onto a busier road heading south into Dijon; the map showed no alternative route for the last 17 km. But those 17 km were straight into a headwind. Luckily for me I could draft Al all the way. Unluckily for both of us, this was the end of a very long day that had started with a train ride to get out of the rain in Champagne.

Walter must be a ok guy because it looks like he has the wonderful Tilley hat :) You DO know where that is from, correct ;)

I had an automat pizza in Brittany. I’ve had much better pizza, but I’ve also had much worse!

This is the same hotel we stayed at on Avignon. They took one look at my walking and gave us a downstairs room. It was at this hotel we got rid of the bikes

LOL - I wouldn't be surprised given your travails over the past couple of weeks.

Oh you crazy young things!! Dodie would NEVER countenance riding through a thing like that. Our Hotel is absolutely wonderful. Cannot imagine trying to get up into the town.

The visit is the best part of the experience. The group was small and the space was too. We love it and do not worry in the least about "health and safety " issues, it was FUN!!!

We prefer soft. Easier on the teeth. Torrone is the name for nougat in Spain. Very similar products we feel. Montelimar nougat is worth a visit and a taste. The tour is free, and super fun.

It is meant as a portrayal of the early 50's, or so. Before bike touring was a thing. And besides, who in their right mind would want to ride in that traffic?

Yes, I agree with Kelly..what is your preference? I would think the hard nougat would be most difficult to chew without thinking about a chipped tooth!
Regarding the employees and visitors REALLY close, I had the same thoughts! Cleanliness issues ( germs) no gloves, or a mask so close to food made me really wonder. C’est la vie, I suppose ;)
