Now I can see what you meant when you commented on my journal about seeing the same kind of buildings I saw in New Ulm, Minnesota. Belgium, Germany, Minnesota--they're all the same.

Am glad you had a good experience with the Focus Hotel. Years ago ours was anything but good. They refused to accept we had a booking even though I had confirmation and other general unpleasantness. The result Booking came to the rescue and found us somewhere really excellent elsewhere

It is the high up battery that is the trouble or at least was for me. When we got to Lousie’s and saw the bike We had left there I realised if I had been on that bike I would still be riding A silly mistake as it was perfect in every other way. Be careful

Yes, I think I went wrong getting a bike with 28" wheels, not to mention the battery up high. Dodie's 26" with battery low was a better choice.

A lot of the religious stuff is meant to be theatrical anyway. Semana Santa, for example, was one giant musical.

You started in Spain with so many hills right away. It would be a big change here - so flat! Perhaps Belgium could also attract Jacinto with beer?

Oh my word! The corkscrews are truly remarkable!

I'm giving Jacinto the pep talk about including Belgium next summer! He said he ate enough fries in Spain to last him a year or two, that wouldn't be an attraction to get him to visit. However, he is open to trying anywhere new, so Belgium might make the list!

Those columns look like they could belong in an old fashioned movie theatre. I suppose that is sacrilegious to say.

Mannequin Pis is strangely inspiring - like the corkscrew, and now we learn of the atomizer. There could be a contest for other ideas ... like screwdriver, oil can,...

I inherited a Manneken Pis perfume atomizer from my Mom. Solid brass no less. Who was the person who came up with that idea? I suspect our two boys will both be wanting it when the time comes. It has pride of place in our powder room and always makes me laugh. It is proof my Mom had a great sense of humour!

Ken would have been delighted to see that tractor parade. Don’t get into my habit of falling off the bike Steve!

I have only seen one or two Fahrs. They are very early before they amalgamated with Deutz
