"Cooties..." unlike our childhood game.

Yes, I’m pretty sure. Much as there are standard gulls.

Wait. There's something called a "standard" cow? How did I not know this? These aren't "Normandy Blancs" or something?

Maybe millet?

A nice shot of standard cows.

It’s true. Cormorants, like many other birds, can look very different depending on age, sex, season, and other considerations. This one is a Great cormorant, the one you’re most likely to see in Europe.

There is no standard gull. Each species is special in its own way. Nice shot though, with all the essential features shown. I think this is a yellow-legged gull, although it’s possibly a lesser black-backed gull.

She’s right. The legs help, as does everything else with gulls. These are black-headed gulls, with their winter look. In breeding season their heads are back (more of a chocolate, actually). You can see the outline of this still on the bird in back.

That is so interesting, Keith. I had no idea!

Thanks for including the video - I really enjoyed it all, including the slides! I haven’t heard that song in a couple of decades, well before my visit to Rouen last summer where I developed a big crush on Jeanne d’Arc. I’ll enjoy the song much more the next time I pop Famous Blue Raincoat into my CD player

That's progress, I guess. Not entirely convinced it is such a good thing, but then we are old and grumpy, so........

I get it. Auto-correct has cursed me with many embarrassing posts all over the texting and internet world.

Thanks for the correction Greg. Of course I knew that. Can I blame autocorrect? Fixed it in the text.
