Hi,
It does bear a resemblance to Eiffel’s other works. In our paper this morning there was an article about Eiffel, who was from Dijon, and about the village of Gilley-les-Citeaux putting up a plaque on the building where the Eiffel family spent their summer holidays. I’m beginning to think this plaque placing trend might be going too far.
Cheers,
Keith

Scofflaws! We also regard detour signs with doubt and frequently barge on in. It's usually fine.

We need you here to help identify the kinds we are seeing. As we get further south, or into Spain, we expect to see more figs, not to mention oranges.

It did seem odd to us, especially since it was only along a limited stretch of canal.

Hi,
My guess: poorly fired painted glass that’s lost its lines.

Hi,
In all my canal path riding, I’ve never seen boats grounded like this. Usually when the VNF wants to lower the water level to do maintenance, they give plenty of notice. Maintenance season is 1st November to 1st April, at least around here, so this is doubly puzzling. Damage to a lock gate? Something for small minds to ponder.
Cheers,
Keith

We will watch for where Canal du Midi becomes dirt, though, and then return to riding the darn dotted white line (if even present!)

It's very interesting how you are connecting the dots on the canal route

We saw many new Plane tree plantings near Béziers, of a disease-resistant strain.

One would only bike it if one had either better balance or a deep seated wish to go swimming.

You are so right. We will probably be riding by the dead zone by tomorrow or the day after. If memory serves it starts soon after Toulouse.

Hi Grampies - enjoy those canals!

Yow! I wouldn’t bike it either.

Not green, but still cool if you like these little stinkers. Looks like a mottled shield bug.

It’s good to see some of these here. It’s heartbreaking to see all the ones lost further south.
