Only half true. Actually, we really enjoyed the ride up and the pass itself. Dropping down the precipice on the other side was pretty horrible though.

Perhaps they have “attendants” to locate your boat as a valet does in a parking lot. That is a serious money maker for the “go-pher” ..

That’s why it’s called “funny money”, or perhaps since it IS Europe, the coins are filled with chocolate rather than metal.

Do not recall it, but will research it and maybe add it to a future trip. We have seen the same stuff in other locations around Europe, though. Some Chinese company is making a lot of money with plastic "Medieval" stuff.

Neither of us seem able to generate much enthusiasm for trying, let alone actually eating, snails, no matter what fancy name one gives them.

Similar to the shoppe items in Muiderslot ( Muiden Castle) in Netherlands. Surely you have been there as well?

Later in the day, when we were getting tired, we were wishing for a St. Bernard with a keg of ..... to come along.

It was seriously nuts how many boats there were. How DO they find them? We could not spot any berth numbers, nor even names of sections like they sometimes have in parades. You know, we are in the Dolphin Section, row 12, berth 25.

Just don't get so overtired that you have a bike accident, our stories are not worth it. And besides, they will still be there tomorrow.

This is where a fishing line with a bright yellow hook would be useful!
Sort of like the days when the Union 76 Gas Station handed out the bright orange balls to put atop your radio antenna. ( showing my age here)

I stayed up past midnight reading your captivating stories yesterday( well, today, technically) and “paid for it” when trying to ride my own bicycle to exercise classes myself! Will continue to enjoy your journeys as mine are not even worthy of print text!
