I’ve raced in the areas you are traveling. The state road race was hosted at Vandenberg AFB back in the day.
If you have not passed Hurst Castle it is worth a tour!
Enjoy :)

As a third generation native of San FranCISCO ( never San Fran, or Frisco, please!) Lombard Street is the “crookedest street”, not twisty. It would be better to walk or bike down it, never in a vehicle. Too slow, and those who live in the houses on the street also need to be able to get their cars out of the garage :) Beware of the pickpockets and warning there are a lot of homeless people everywhere on the coast. It’s the milder weather that “draws them in”…

Congratulations! You made it! The roads and signs are clean; that’s a first.

Good you got over the mountains when you did! The famous Santa Ana winds were kicking up over 75 mph in places. You might want to consult windy.com for wind forecasts. Many cycle tourists rely heavily on it.

Exactly! Except it’s not too far from my “midnight” even when I’m home 🙃

This scenery looks incredible!
In bed by 8:15! That's what hikers call "Hiker's Midnight." Sounds like you found Biker's Midnight!

Awesome. Thanks for these suggestions. I’ll definitely have to check it out. I would love to bike down the world’s most twisty street so well see if I make it over there.
