I presume they grow them up! Animals are treated pretty roughly in Laos.

They smell wonderful. One of my favorite flower fragrances. However, each tree is different, some strong, some weak.

They look a little bit like big jasmine blossoms. Do they also have a strong smell?

They carry them home in plastic bags alive… and then?

I think I will always associate "Moon River" with Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I hate to sound like a square, but it really is a pretty good song.

I have no useless stuff in my brain to associate anything with a Glass Bag next to the potato chid.

Nice Davie Jones shirt. In addition to all the other fine qualities of the Thai people, I see they can go retro too. I'm so retro that I can remember Davie Jones was Marcia Brady's favorite rock star.

Second only to garlic, ginger is also my favorite chicken companion. Oh yeah, the green onions are right up there too.

Happy New Year to both of you. I‘m impressed by your bravery! I really, really enjoy reading about your adventures! The way you write about your trip is so direct I can literally feel the heat although I’m in the Austrian Alpes right now surrounded by snow. However your journal keeps awake far too late because I can’t stop reading . But now, as I caught up and read the last entry, I can turn off the light and say good night. Stay safe!!

Mark Lellman commented on Bike Stuff

Years ago, if there was a screeching water pump/fan belt in my car, I learned that holding a bar of soap against the contact side of the belt, while the engine was idling, would give enough of a coating to stop the screech. I probably learned that on the 1958 Volvo 444, which had many problems, all more serious than that. I learned a lot about mechanics from that car. I wish I still had it.

I'm really glad to see that these are still made, and not replaced with some Chinese dreck YET.
