I remember my dad & uncles after cutting a tree down I heard them say "Are we doing the come to me and go to you" today? It refers to the two-man saw! It sounds funny. They take turns splitting the tree.

These Deers must be used to seeing people otherwise they hide somewhere under the trees.

Sorry you had to encounter the infamous wind sweeping off the Rockies. We used to say when it wasn't windy, we walked at a slant, so used to compensating for it!
