1 year agoWhat a trip! Thank you for taking us all along. You both inspired me when we met at Tahquamenon, and reading your posts has been an inspiring blast.
1 year ago"Dreamt about straps" !! This made me laugh out loud -- because, haven't we all been there?!
1 year agoNo, we didn't see any moose. That would have been cool. Did you ride the whole trail?
1 year agoWe wondered what this project was when we rode by it several weeks ago. Did you see any moose? We got to see 2 of them on this section of the trail.
1 year agoA nice place to be on a summer day. Not crowded. You can see clearly the
opposite side of the lake. Beautiful!
Show us a photo of your loaded tandem?
1 year agoThanks, Jenna - when I rode the Seattle to Portland two-day event back in 2019 or so, my wife was the SAG and enjoyed it. Carole said she'd have no problem for a longer tour, which for us would be a week in Wisconsin we had been planning.
1 year agoI would definitely do it again. I never got bored. Between late check-outs and early check-ins, I almost always had a comfortable room to stay in when I wasn't on the road. E-books and computer games were great time passers. I met up with Kerry for lunch or sightseeing stops many days. It was fun for me.
1 year agoCongratulations! My dad, Sister and I ran into you on a bridge crossing way back in Ohiopyle and you gave us a card. I checked in on your progress since we completed our ride and I just wanted to stop in and say "Congrats" on completion of an epic bike journey! Fun to follow along - thanks for documenting!
1 year agoCan you add a Jenna post on how she filled her days and if she would volunteer again??
1 year agoLooking good! What an accomplishment. Could you share a photo of the rear of your bike? You have a Varia and three lights?
1 year agoStay tuned. We're going to be chained together on our way back to FL. First stop is Coeur D'Alene, ID for a six-day loop ride.

No we didn't bike the entire length of either the Centennial or Coeur d'Alene trails this time. We were camped in Spokane Valley and in an RV park at Cataldo for several weeks recently and biked several days on the Centennial trail - to the west and east. Then when we were in Cataldo, we biked south and east for a ways on the Coeur d'Alene trail. In the fall of 2021 we camped at Heyburn SP at the south end of the trail and rode that section. One day we rode toward the lake from Plummer and saw the smoke and fire crews still putting out that big fire. It's a beautiful area and we enjoyed biking there except for where you are along the interstate. We found the surface of the trails to be quite rough - poorly maintained in our opinion.
