It felt great to be back on tour today. And we really did have fun going to Kansas. It's not cycling, but we enjoy auto road trips too.
2 years agoThis was the first time we've had to rent a vehicle due to a problem - with either the bike or something else. It was expensive but it seemed like the best option of the very few available. We've rented minivans twice as a planned way to get home after a long tour, but there were no van rentals at all on PEI that we could find.
2 years agoBoy, this picture sure looks familiar! Several times we've had to rent a U Haul truck to transport the tandem. I'm glad to hear that you got the fork fixed and are back on the road in Ohio.
2 years agoGreat that everything is fixed again and you are ready to roll!
2 years agoThat’s such a frightening photo. You two are really lucky.
2 years agoYeah, why not go to Ohio via Kansas? What a story. Glad you’re back on the road.
2 years agoHi Linda and Raynald,
It's good to hear from you. After we met, we reviewed our 2017 journal and found that we had stayed in Ste Adele at a nice B&B - Le Clair Matin Sante - both on the way up to St. Jovitz and on the way back down. Small world!
This is the first we've written this on CycleBlaze, so you are the first to know. We are leaving in four days to salvage the final five weeks of our summer. Kerry is calling it "Reunion Bound Rebound". I'll be resuming this journal very soon.

Hi Jeanna and Kerry,
I'm sad for you but you're still young, you can repeat the adventure next year and acheive Québec !
We return in Florida and Myrtle Beach next spring, hope we will meet you again somewhere on the road!
Linda & Raynald from Ste-Adèle QUÉBEC
We're home now, safe and sound. We're working on arranging to have the bike repaired. It's very uncertain whether or not we'll be able to continue our trip this summer.
2 years agoI am so sorry what happened to your bike. It is a good thing that the owner of B & B let you borrow his Van. That's so kind of him to do that.
Hope you get home safely.
Oh, what a disappointment! You were so far along the route! I’m thankful that Kerry found the problem before it failed. You’re safe, which is what matters most. I’ve been following along and enjoying your trip so much. You two are amazing! I’m sure you’ll be off on new adventures again soon. Thanks so much for this journal! I want to know how it ends!!!
2 years agoYou identified that for me before - sorry I didn't recognize it this time. Thanks again!

Everything worked out as well as we could have hoped under the circumstances. Two Far is rolling again!
