Thanks for checking out our blog. It was nice meeting y'all yesterday. Meeting people like you is one of the parts of our trip that we enjoy most. I hope you'll enjoy following along with us.
2 years agoWe met you yesterday at Jersey Mike’s. So excited to follow your journey!
2 years agoThank goodness you didn't have a flat tire going through those bad roads. You encountered rude drivers along the way, just ignore them.
They must have a bad start.
Oh my! Beautiful Roses! Smile, it makes your day!
2 years agoA bit surprising, isn't it? Those gentlemen in their pickups who had words for us yesterday seemed like the shoot at road signs type.
2 years agoAt least there are no bullet holes in the sign.
2 years agoA rocking chair would be nice to have on this porch to watch people
pass by and bikers as well.
A nice community for a daily walk! No worry for dogs outside.
2 years agoTop of the night to you both! I just wanted to chime in to say hi. I'm sitting outside on the patio by the fire pit. Nice right! Wind is finally taking a break. Listen to Dave Mathews Band with my headphones on.
I took a day off of riding and spent time getting my bags on the bike and outfitting my camera bag on the rear rack. Going to take a big lens this trip ~ because I can.
Ok guys, have fun tomorrow on the road! I remember my route down to your location....it was pretty if I recall. Bye
Paul,
I remember the sand from when we rode the Outer Banks in '19. Sometimes we had to go clear to the middle of the road to avoid it. The good thing is that, riding along at 10MPH, we have plenty of time to see it and react :-)
We had a good lunch at the Thomas Cafe which is the building on the left with the green awning. We had Shrimp & Grits and a Shrimp Po'Boy.
2 years agoMost of ALT-17 wasn't bad. Not a lot of traffic and everybody was polite. Still, I'd prefer to have a good shoulder to ride on, instead of riding in the traffic lane on a road like that.
2 years agoWe had several miles if older shoulder like that that I couldn't ride on because of the seam. We ended up riding in the traffic lane, but Jeanna did a great job of calling the traffic for me.
2 years agoKeith,
If you're definition of "fun" is a big climb, I guess we'll be having "fun"! Our hotel is right beside the bridge, so we'll be tackling it with "cold" legs just to add to our pleasure.
I try to remember when we run into mean people that we only have to endure their hostility for a few moments. They have to live with themselves 24/7. It is probably not a very happy life for them.
