Bicycle gyms - that's funny. It is frustrating that people can be so clueless when designing bicycle facilities.

That border crossing is manned by some of the biggest jerks in the US customs service. I’m glad they didn’t start shooting at you!

So many cycle paths have gates or other structures that thwart touring cyclists. The turntable style types are just horrible especially if they are on a grill structure that wheels can get stuck in. We refer to all such structures as bicycle gyms. On your tandem it would be a nightmare. Relived to know you crossed safely.

I have the same problem with RideWithGPS. Our Wahoos regularly record grades significantly steeper than what RidewithGPS predicts. I don’t know where they’re getting their elevation data from!

People living in these Condos have a beautiful view while sipping their morning coffee or drinking beer or wine. Just relaxing to watch the boats anchored there! AAH! One nice way to enjoy Life.

Beautiful Falls! I wander if people are allowed to go up those big stones or the concrete walkways?

We have an Excel spreadsheet and we list what goes into each pannier and further, into which pocket or compartment of each pannier. It is a level of detail many would find a bit "over the edge", but it works for us. We live by the mantra of "same thing, same place, every day" when we pack. I hope you are enjoying getting into the world of bike touring.

Yes, that's what we read. I didn't know that the Niagara Escarpment extended as far west as Wisconsin.

I was hoping someone would notice that. I told these guys about my cartoon, so they took off their jackets.

Kerry says walking the steep ones keeps from putting too much stress on the chain. I like to believe that is the reason we do it!

I've considered asking him to push the bike with me on it, but I doubt that would go over very well.

That’s how we climb the steep ones, too. Easier on the knees.
