We'll be behind you. We're in New Hampshire on June 12 and Ogunquit, Maine June 13. We're going to spend some time riding up the Maine coast and then visit New Brunswick. We don't get to Nova Scotia until July 8.
2 years agoKerry and Jeanna, do you have an estimated arrival date in Canada? I'll be arriving in Bar Harbor June 12 and Yarmouth June 13. Hope our routes cross.
2 years agoI had to laugh at your accounting of joining the parade! Several times we've run into parades while on a tour with the towns people thinking we were part of the show. One was this Fireman's parade in Lake George, NY. It went on and on so we finally just sat on the curb until it had passed. If you ever get to that town, check it out.
2 years agoThat is crazy weather....I stayed home and packed for my tour ~ in the air condition! Travel on my friends. We are headed to Ocean City this weekend for pizza!
2 years agoNo, we didn't get any candy, though there was plenty we could have picked up. Since the parade vehicles were throwing out the candy, the kids asked for candy from us! We were sorry we couldn't give them any.
2 years agoA very inadvertent one, I assure you. If only I were clever enough to craft that on purpose!
2 years agoPart of a parade u guys are funny
..did you get some candy?
Jeanna & Kerry,
Thanks for the name of the game. We did not know what to call it.
Stay safe.
Yep, that makes more sense. The cloth would not be stiff enough to remove feathers.

2 years agoThat is the description of the game we got from the lighthouse volunteer. She said it was known by two names, one of which was something like "Batten Down the Hatches"
2 years agoThat makes a lot of sense, but actually it's an apple polisher. Those are pieces of cloth hanging from the upper roller.
2 years agovery interesting
2 years agoThis appears to be a unit to 'defeather' chickens. The upper roller for for the start and the lower roller for the finish. This one appears to be home-made rather than a commercial unit.
