4 years agoAnd if you look closely, you will notice a young poison ivy plant just below the lizard
And also notice the tip of its tail is gone. They lose their tails easily to escape predators, so broken tails are common.
Eastern fence lizard. Common all over the southeast.

Staying dry is going to be a challenge for the next few days as Chrisobal works its way up the Mississippi valley, but it looks like you will be spared the worst of it. If you had left one week later Natchez might have been flooded.
