Speaking of small world, I visited with Dean at Coborn's grocery when he was on his way north through Little Falls.
4 years agoI love reading but especially when it is about meeting people that you know from previous encounters. Everything sounds good and I look forward to daily writings and especially to your return.
4 years agoWhy... I can barely tell the difference between THIS 200 and FL-200!
4 years agoRegretfully, it's likely I'll be in International Falls and back in Little Falls before you arrive at the border. I will continue to watch the progress of your adventure, however.
4 years agoDiane and I are really enjoying your stories, and you are going through some beautiful countryside......would love to be there.
Regarding the "arrow" on Jim's Barber Shop, in the photo it does look like an arrow, but it's an optical illusion. I have an unfair advantage of having been in the sign business many decades ago. Most municipalities in North America outlawed hanging signs in the 70's and 80's, and many businesses took them down, but left the supporting structures in place, and that's what we have here, the sunlight just catching the protruding horizontal pole, the top guy wire, and the left side guy wire. The angle of your photo makes them form what looks like an almost perfect arrow.
We'll be in International Falls Monday and Tuesday nights next week. We'd love to get together if you'll be in the area.
4 years agoKerry asked my permission before he posted about my dinner. I should have told him NO! But it was good and I enjoyed every bite.
4 years agoNo. The town was deserted on a Sunday morning.
4 years agoDidn't get to check it out - it was closed for the day
4 years agoAt least with a meal like THAT, you can "ride it off" the next day!
4 years agoIt was a pleasure meeting the two of you. Perhaps I'll see you again near the Canadian border later this week.
4 years agoThanks, Alain. I read up on cupolas and added another new word to my vocabulary. I now know what a belvedere is.
4 years agoThank you! I think I would have known cupola for a little structure at the top of a house, but I didn't think of it for a barn. Something gave it quite a tilt. Storm damage, maybe? Could it have been built that way?
4 years agoI love your stories! Did you check out the General Store - love them
