That would be such a cool home! Bullet proof and unique at the same time. You could have a raft on top in case you had to evacuate during a hurricane. Cool

5 years agoMost interesting write up on your adventures. Wish I could be with you but glad I am not on a bike.
5 years agoI've seen some very good looking grandmothers, but I definitely wouldn't use comparing someone to a favorite grandmother as a pick up line. Hope you recover from the indignity.

5 years agoAmazing how it changes so quickly. I experienced that same thing along the Gulf.
5 years agoNorth Carolina was by far the most bike friendly state in our ride up the east coast in 2011 - great road surfaces, shoulders and signage. Love to ride in NC!
5 years agoDid you leave them a calling card? Guys please stay safe, this was a great choice ~ I learned something new!
5 years agoRain is no fun. It is 10.20 right now and raining off and on. I have some errands to run and will surely get wet. lou
5 years agoWe drove across the US 17 bridge today with our friends. It was 2 lanes, narrow with no shoulder at all. It would not have been a good place to ride. We were glad that we got on 30. It was definitely much safer.
5 years agoI used Google Street View to check out the two bridges mentioned; US-17 and SC-30. I truly wonder why bikes aren't allowed on a bridge with a perfectly good shoulder... perhaps the geniuses who designated the "bikes allowed/bikes not allowed" ruling should be forced to ride a bike across both of these bridges during rush hour and then allowed to re-think their decision! Perhaps it's ruled like it is because SC-30 is a "freeway" and US-17 is NOT?
5 years agoLooking good travelers! I'm a little behind you (reviewing your days), but I'll get there.
5 years agoInteresting ride across a bridge on which you were not allowed. Today, Tuesday, 91 degrees at 1 p.m. Pool time.
