Thanks, Keith. Don't tell Kathleen but there is a golf course in Mallorca too! There was a low key course on our cycle route just about 6k from our hotel in Port de Pollensa.
2 years agoWhat a great trip summary…so many topics of interest. Looking forward to our future coffee date…we will have lots to talk about.
2 years agoYou're welcome, Patrick. I didn't think I was going to do a journal for this trip when we were in the planning phase but after the 5th request from friends in town, I caved. LOL. Glad they talked me into it. Journals are a great way to solidify your memories and share with others.
I didn't realize how much fun it would be to get immersed in a place with a rich cycle tourism culture. They really have done an excellent job of making cyclists feel welcome. We hit it at the end of the biking season so it was never crowded with cyclists. It is usually too hot for cycling in mid to late June, so that's when the beach crowd arrives.
Thanks for sharing your adventure! You've evoked past memories and have stirred our bellies towards exploring new places. Mallorca has been on our radar for a while now! Thanks Anne and David.
2 years agoThanks, Jacquie. You two are having quite the vacation too. Dolomite and Tyrol are definitely on our list. We must make a point of getting together with you when you're in town!
2 years agoGreat trip and journal! We’ll be in Victoria sometime this summer and hope to connect.
2 years agoHi Eva, it's nice to hear that you've been reading the journal and it has brought some memories back for you. Mallorca was a wonderful surprise and delivered on every point. The food, the people, the roads, the weather and the scenery all took our breath away. It has a well deserved reputation as a cycling destination.
2 years agoIndeed Kathleen. It was a fabulous trip. Try as we might, the sunshine stayed behind in Spain. Darn it! We had to turn the heat on yesterday. We will catch up soon.
2 years agoThanks so much for this journal. It was very interesting to read about your rides in Mallorca after our enjoyable stay there in 2013. I'm glad it's still such a great place to cycle and that the food is still so good! I appreciate your thoughtful comments about dealing with the risk of Covid, and are glad that the hub and spoke approach worked so well for you.
2 years agoWelcome home! What a fabulous trip you had. The contrast in weather between yours and ours couldn’t have been more dramatic. We look forward to seeing you soon.
2 years agoI'm happy to hear that you enjoyed following along and picked up some tips for your own travels, Rich. Thanks!
