The one on the right looks like Mrs Peacock (Peahen)

Lois, we lived in nine different places in Canastota. Renting with six kids can be tough. Especially when your mom doesn’t pay the bills :-) long ago far far away, so yes, you probably passed one of my houses. Ha ha ha ha ha

Another beautiful ride….with a beer at the end …. And Mexican food! What could be better! Love your photos!
Sitting on our screen porch with a blanket (late August!) and love that as well! 🖐🏻 😉

Another wonderful day of riding for you! As I read your blog I was dining Erie Canal as it was a mainstay in the 5th grade music classes; loved talking about it and how it was made, etc. The really big deal, however, was the ‘sculpture’ at Lockport — certainly you noticed the two “eagles” (blue and red)! Those people know strength!

As always your choice of photos is just wonderful! Such an adventure! And we are sitting in 99 degree temps living vicariously with your terrific writings and pics!

Thought I should share the 4-year olds also showed me the Eagle several times as we sang and did fingerplays—they were just unaware. 😉 such fun was had!! 🎶

I worked in Macedon at Mobil Chemical, and lived in Canandaigua! Wave when you go by! Bruce and I lived in Webster, we love the Canal path - used to run on it a couple times a week (back when the knees were healthy)!

We have been very lucky with the weather. 🤞🤞🤞 that it stays that way. Have a fabulous time with the grandkids. I am sure the singing will be wonderful by all. 🥰

I thought of that but wouldn’t it still rise with them down?

You did me proud today, Gary! It was a firm and yet dignified Eagle. Glad you haven’t forgotten: powerful. How exciting to see a real one sitting atop that tree! Enjoy your 2days with friends and stay cool. Apparently we hit 100 today: real temp; heat index worse. Plants are not appreciating it and neither are we. Tomorrow we go to Milwaukee, WI so I can sing with the kiddos in our grandson’s 4K class. Doing a little Bob Marley and maracas! No discussion about birds or eagles tomorrow. …. Altho I will be doing 3 Littke Birds….in Gary’s honor, I guess! Woohoo!
